- Baked pie crust
- medium size heavy sauce pan

Step 1
Gather ingredients
3/4 cup sugar
3 Tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 Teaspoon salt
2 cups Whole milk
3 egg yolks
2 Tablespoons butter
1 Teaspoon vanilla
1 baked pie shell
Meringue shredded coconut -
Step 2
I a medium saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Gradually stir in milk. Cook stirring constantly over medium heat til bubbly. Cook two more minutes. Remove from heat and drop a small amount of hot mixture into slightly beaten egg yolks. Return to hot mixture and cook two more minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla. Stir in 1/2 cup coconut.

Step 3
Pour into baked pie shell. Spread with meringue and sprinkle with coconut. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in 350 oven.
