How to do live Spoken Word

I always admired those poets that did Spoken Word on stage but I soon found out there are many ways to perform spoken word...Here's how....

Things You’ll Need:

• your writing either put on paper of memorized
• props
• interesting clothing

1. Spoken word is not just for poetry, it is an artform of words including prose and stories to be read or memorized pieces that give mare freedom to perform things with your hands....
2. To break into a Spoken Word World you need to show yourself... The usual places to have spoken word concerts would be an auditorium of a State Theatre or even in a college auditorium....Anywhere that can present your spoken word with class....
3. I've always loved the sounds of paper flipping thru a book or loose paper so if your choose to read from paper, don't feel bad, this isn't a play or musical concert so keep that in mind....
4. But if you do have your words memorized it gives you something more that you can work with- your hands... Props may include the actual writing pen to paper as you recite your piece (which is a cool idea) but the possibilities are endless....

• Don't worry about stage fright, you can always record your spoken word and mass produce it to start selling!
