If you have had chronic prostatitis that doesn’t respond to treatment, or if your doctor has told you that there’s no way to treat it, here are some possibilities to consider.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Know that there are two main categories of chronic prostatitis—bacterial and non-bacterial. Tests for the presence of bacteria may not detect them, however, if the infection is deep inside the prostate gland.
Step2
Discuss your diagnosis with your doctor. If you have had long-term symptoms of prostatitis and no treatment has had any significant effect, suggest that you may have an undetectable bacterial infection.
Step3
Ask your doctor to prescribe a long-term antibiotic treatment lasting six to 10 weeks. Inquire about standard antibiotics like tetracyclines such as a doxycycline regimen for seven to eight weeks.
Step4
Add a mineral supplement to your diet that includes zinc and consider taking a saw palmetto supplement to maintain prostate condition.
