How to Remove and Prevent Blackheads

Blackheads are usually formed from blocking or clogging of the skin pores from accumulated dirt or from the body' s natural oils that have been trapped in the pores. Usually a clogged pore forms a whitehead which gradually becomes black as more dirt is trapped. This article will show you some ways to remove and prevent blackheads.

Things You’ll Need:

  • tweezers
  • warm water
  • blackhead remover
  • facial steamer
  • face mask

Step1
One way to remove blackheads is to use a sterilized tweezer to pull out the blackhead form the pores. It is best to open the pores on the face either by using a facial steamer or by placing a warm cloth of the face for a few minutes. This will help you to extract the blackheads a lot easier.
Step2
Purchase a blackhead remover from the local drugstore. This is a thin long metal instrument that has a small loop at one end. You place the loop on the black head and apply pressure to it and this will squeeze the blackhead out of its pore. Clean the area immediately with alcohol wipe to close the pore.
Step3
Using a face mask can also help to remove blackheads as well as prevent them form forming in the first place by maintaining a healthy clean skin. This will reduce prevent the pores form clogging up with dirt or oils.
Step4
To prevent skin the risk of getting skin infections and rashes you should always use sterilized clean equipment or wash your hands properly before touching your face and before squeezing the blackheads. After the blackhead has been extracted you must clean the area and close the pore by wiping the skin with alcohol wipes or washing it with soap and water.
Step5
Taking hot showers and /or facial steaming once a week will keep the face clean and free of blackheads.

on 3/7/2008 You can purchase a blackhead remover from a pharmacy. Gently poking the blackhead with the sharp end will make it easier to squeeze it out with the loop end. Gently press on it.
To prevent blackheads, always wipe off the oil from your face if you are prone to oily face, especially around the T-zone ie your forehead, nose, side of your nose and chin.
