Sure, every part of Kingdom of Loathing is fun. But the faster you advance, the faster you can ascend and acquire permanent skills. Learn how to become a speed demon.

From Quick Guide: PC Gaming
Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet Connection
  • Kingdom of Loathing account
  1. Step 1

Play the game. There is no substitute for familiarity with the game, and you will find that the more you play, the better you get, regardless of anything below. All the skills and items in the game are much more useful if you know what to do with them.

  2. Step 2

Acquire permanent skills with speed in mind. Every time you ascend, you get a skill which will speed future runs. But if you want to go faster, focus on skills which give you extra adventures (food/drink skills), or help you finish quests faster (item finding and combat percentages).

  3. Step 3

Stats are king. There are many useful familiars that do all sorts of things, but a volleyball (or purchased volley-combo) is your best friend for the first few levels.

  4. Step 4

Choose your quests wisely. Early in the game, there are many quests. But half of them are optional, and you'll go much faster if you don't waste too much time on low stat-gain adventures.

  5. Step 5

Focus on stats up until level 11. Once you hit level 11, stats shouldn't be a problem, so you'll likely want to switch to item-finding for the duration of your questing.

  6. Step 6

If you are neither in your first run nor in hardcore, you can pull good food and booze for extra adventures, equipment to make you invincible in combat, and even some items required for quests.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you're out of HC/Ronin, have someone else buff you up! Accordion thief songs can directly add to your stat gain and hence levelling speed.
  • Don't be in such a hurry that you miss all the funny stuff in the game.
