Our Western culture places so much emphasis on physical beauty resulting in the exploding industry in cosmetic surgery and other age-defying industries and pharmaceutical companies which are making billions in our quest to delay the onset of the inevitable ... aging and wrinkling!! Besides going to the extreme and undergoing risky surgical procedures under the knife of a surgeon there are other options that we can also choose to try and delay or reduce the onset of wrinkles.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • moisturizers
  • hat
  • sunglasses
  • face tonic
  • alpha hydroxy acid
  • Water
  • omega 3
  • Vitamin C cream

Step1
Forming good daily habits in taking care of the skin with a cleaning routine is a good start place of reducing the onset of wrinkles. Use a mild, organic or herbal based soap (most chemical-based soaps are usually very harsh on the face and tends to remove all the natural surface oils on the skin thus causing it to become very dry and increase the risk of forming wrinkles). It is also good advice to avoid using boiling water to wash the face instead use warm water and a soft cotton cloth to pat the skin dry. Never rub the face skin too hard or roughly as this will cause skin damage or increase the likelihood of forming broken "red veins'" (superficial cappillaries that supply blood to the surface of the skin).
Step2
Try to be aware of facial grimacing or frowning as these gestures will increase the formation of wrinkles if done constantly and repeatedly. Over the years the lines will gradually become deeper and more prominent. So be aware of your gestures but don't become so obsessed with it that you are afraid to smile or laugh!!!
Step3
The sun is known to increase the formation of wrinkles prematurely. The more you expose your skin to the UV light of the sun the more you place yourself at risk to premature aging. The important thing to remember is to always wear protection from the harmful rays. Wear sunscreen or wear protective clothing to reduce the skin exposure, ie, sun hats or sunglasses.
Step4
Use a lot of moisturizers to keep the skin hydrated and supple. Wrinkles are more likely to form if the skin is dehydrated and dry. Replenish the skin after you wash your face or if you are out in the dry humid environment. Use creams that have added vitamins and nutrients, SPF in them.
Step5
Drink plenty of water every day. It is recommended to drink about 6-8 glasses of water each day to keep the body and skin hydrated.
Step6
STOP SMOKING. Besides containing carcinogenic substances that you inhale into your body cigarette smoking is definitely the number one bad habit that we can stop to prevent premature aging of the skin. Smoking reduces the amount of oxygen available to the circulation and to facial skin which then causes the skin to wrinkle. Additionally, the repetitive facial movements from smoking around the lips and mouth increases the lines int hat area.
Step7
Use a facial steamer or face tonic regularly to help slough of the dead cells on the surface of the skin and to increase the blood circulation to the epidermis layers of the skin. This will help maintain youthfulness and give you a "glow" to the face as well as reducing wrinkle lines.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try herbal face masks once a week. These are readily available in most drugstores.
  • You can make your own face masks using fruits, vegetables. For example, papaya, avocado are great to use as face masks as well as very nutritious for the body.
