Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Register as a bookseller on one or several online book sites. See links under resources, below, for Cash 4 Books, Amazon and Half.com. You may wish to register for all three as there are benefits to each.
Step2
List your books by entering them by ISBN numbers, which you can find above the bar code or on the copyright page for older books.
Step3
Monitor your seller account and email so that you know when your books sell. Keep track of which books sell and your sale prices as well as postage costs so you can track what is profitable.
Step4
Package, label and ship all books promptly. With the ability to print postage online, you can literally have your books in the mail only hours after they sell. Prompt service is key to repeat customers and a good sellers' reputation.
Step5
Shop at yard sales, school book sales, library book sales and flea markets for used books to sell on the internet. Once you have an idea for what earns money, you can spend some cash building up an inventory. Avoid outdated textbooks and cheap fiction novels, which are a waste of money.
Step6
Earn money for selling books, but leave the order shipping and other time-consuming tasks to others. Become a half.com associate through commission junction and an Amazon.com associate. Market books in your blogs, websites and other online formats. Include your associates links in your forum signatures and email signature to increase clicks.
