Things You’ll Need:

  • 1 clean, sterile jar
  • 2 cups rubbing alcohol
  • 1 cup sage leaves
  • ¼ cup eucalyptus
  • ¼ cup peppermint
  • ¼ cup lavender
  • ¼ cup yarrow
  • ¼ cup glycerin
  • 1 clean, sterile jar
  • 1 cup witch hazel
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin
  • 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel
  • Lavender essential oil
  • Bergamot essential oil
  • Rosemary essential oil
  • Peppermint essential oil
  • Clove essential oil

Make Aftershave with Herbs

Step1
Place all the herbs in your jar. Cover the herbs with the rubbing alcohol and glycerin. Shake the jar vigorously to mix the ingredients.
Step2
Let the herbs steep in a dark place, such as a cabinet, for two weeks. Shake the jar at least once a day during this period.
Step3
Strain the steeped herbs and discard the solids. Pour your herbal aftershave into the bottle you want to use for dispensing it.
Step4
Splash the aftershave on your face after shaving. To get the best results, make sure you shake bottle before each application to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Make an Herbal Aftershave With Essential oils

Step1
Combine the first four ingredients in your glass jar and mix thoroughly.
Step2
Add the essential oils one drop at a time, mixing and guaging the resulting scent before you add more. Essential oils are potent, and once added, cannot be removed, but you can always add more if there is not enough.
Step3
Shake the jar to mix all the ingredients thoroughly, and then store in a dark place for one week, shaking at least once a day.
Step4
Pour your herbal aftershave into the bottle you want to use for dispensing it.
Step5
Splash the aftershave on your face after shaving. To get the best results, make sure you shake bottle before each application to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may add water to dilute the herbal aftershave if you like. Distilled water will work best.
  • The alcohol contained in aftershaves acts as an antibacterial, helping prevent any nicks and cuts from getting infected. Glycerin helps moisturize dry skin.
  • Never apply undiluted essential oils to your skin.
