Things You'll Need:
- A doctor who is familiar with supplements and can guide you in the proper use.
-
Step 1
Check with your doctor first. Let him know that you are going to use Ginkgo biloba. Make sure that there will not be any side effects related to any prescriptions you are already on. Most doctors are familiar with the most popular supplements and even prescribe them sometimes.
-
Step 2
Read all the information available. For instance, in rare instances it can cause trouble in the gastrointestinal tract, intermittent headaches, rashes and dizziness. If you experience any of these reactions, discontinue use and consult your doctor. Ginkgo biloba thins the blood, and it can have adverse reactions if you take specific classes of medications like anticonvulsants, antidepressants, diabetes medications, blood thinners and others.
-
Step 3
Follow the dosage directions. Going overboard is not a good thing. More Ginkgo biloba will not make you feel better faster.
