In this article you will learn the basic set up of a simple bar.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • You'll need your alcohols, which will consist of vodka, gin, tequila, rum, and whiskey. Now if you like wines you should get you a good white and a good red wine. Now you will also need mixers basic
  1. Step 1

Get all of your liquors arranged in the order of gin, vodka, rum, tequila, and then whiskey. Now depending on how many shelves you have they might be lined up from bottom to top instead of next to each other.

  2. Step 2

Now put all of your mixers in your bar rack. If you don't have a bar rack put your bottles of mixer like grenadine and triple sec on the bar with the liquors. Then put your tonic water, soda water, soda pops, and juices in a near by cabinet or under your bar. This goes for the water also if you don't have a sink. You can put your salts, sugar, olives, etc.... in containers that you can find at wholesale liquor stores or at Sam's Club. Those can be set right on the bar. You also can put your shakers on the bar.

  3. Step 3

As far as the glasses go. If you have a hanging rack all of your flukes, goblets, sifters, daiquiri, and martini glasses will hang over your bar. Now your highball(low)& rock(tall & short)will be set on your bar depending on size or you will need to get a cart for that purpose.

Tips & Warnings
  • Since it's only a two person bar you won't need as many glasses, but it is always wise to keep extra' s. This is your personal bar and you will have your way at setting it in the manner that suits you. The information I provided you with was just how I have previously set bars up that I worked at.
  • Make sure you don't fill your hanging rack with too many glasses because they are know to fall due to vibrations and things of that sort. That is only if they are filled all the way to the end with no space in between each glass.
