Google is so much more than search!

Google is so much more than a search engine. Let's go over some of the other uses of Google products that can be used in the classroom. I am a Google Certified Teacher and use many of Google's other products each day in my classroom. All of these products are completely free and can be accessed through the Google homepage. Here are some ways to get the most out of Google.

From Quick Guide: Encyclopedia 101
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use Google Earth to track and plan upcoming field trips.

  2. Step 2

Use Google Calendar to keep track of class events and birthdays.

  3. Step 3

Use Google Alerts to receive updates about items that the class is currently studying.

  4. Step 4

Use Google Blogger to keep a class blog that is updated daily.

  5. Step 5

Use Google Maps to find local points of interest to your students or plot how far kids live from school.

  6. Step 6

Use Google Images to find a picture of just about anything!

  7. Step 7

Use Google's photo sharing site, Picasa, to share photos (however, I recommend using Shutterfly).

  8. Step 8
