Kids love baseball, so why not set up a baseball thematic unit in your classroom? The kids will learn lots of skills such as counting, sorting and classifying, fine and gross motor skills--and learn a lot about our national pastime. Here are some ideas for teaching a baseball unit.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Buy some good baseball books for kids.
Step2
Play Baseball Bingo with the kids.
Step3
Play the Baseball Card Matching Game.
Step4
Make baseball cutting exercises.
Step5
Make a little baseball playing area for the kids to practice their pitching and hitting.
Step6
Buy an inflatable baseball target.
Step7
Teach the kids to throw overhand at the baseball target. Show them to point at the target and reach back with the ball.
Step8
Teach the kids to hit a baseball.
Step9
Have the kids sort baseball cards by team and position. This is a great sorting exercise for them to do.
