Scrapbook pages can be decorated with many different items and techniques. Have you ever thought of using shaving cream to color your scrapbook backgrounds? This formula is easy to use and inexpensive to purchase. Use some shaving foam to create a marble-like texture on your scrapbook layout.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Bowl or plastic container
  • Shaving cream (the kind that foams not gel)
  • Re-inkers
  • Paint brush or sponge
  • Glossy scrapbook paper

Step1
Spray the shaving cream into your container and add a few drops of re-inker. You can use just one color or a few colors.
Step2
Swirl the first color of ink into the shaving cream to color it. When adding additional color just stir slightly to get a marble-like effect.
Step3
Now scoop or pour a small amount of your mixture onto the paper
Step4
The glossy paper will soak up less moisture and more color.
Step5
Let the paper dry completely before using it on your scrapbook pages

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also squirt the shaving cream directly onto the paper and add the ink carefully while using a paint brush to swirl in the color.
  • Careful not to get too much shaving cream on the paper or it may become too wet.
  • Place plastic or some sort of cover over your work space so that you don’t ruin the table surface.
