When it comes to giving and receiving gifts money is typically a favorite for most people. If you are giving money why not spice up the packaging a bit by creating your own decorated money holder. All you need is some scrapbooking supplies and a little creativity to be on your way to making a greeting card masterpiece.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Scrapbook paper (cardstock and patterned paper)
  • Stamps and ink
  • Scrapbook embellishments (ribbon, brads, Velcro, etc.)
  • Adhesive
  • Velcro
  1. Step 1

Cut out the base of your card (7x9 rectangle) and fold it into a card. Fold the square end 3 ½ “up and then fold the rounded end over the top to make an envelope-like card.

  2. Step 2

Trim some patterned paper to fit over the top of your cardstock base. Make the paper about ¼” shorter on each side so you have a cardstock border. Glue the paper to the cardstock and fold along the lines.

  3. Step 3

Now use stamps and other embellishments to decorate the outside and inside of the money holder.

  4. Step 4

Tie a ribbon around the top flap of the envelope and use a small piece of Velcro to hold it closed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Write or stamp a message inside to personalize your card.
  • Include a tag or decorative embellishment on the outside with a greeting or the name of the recipient.
  • Make the card as lavish or as simple as you want with different types of embellishments.
