Have you ever reached into the nail pouch on your tool belt and poked your finger when trying to retrieve a nail? Here is an easy solution to that common problem. Follow these steps so you will not have to sacrifice your fingertips anymore.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hammer with a wooden handle
  • Small magnet measuring 3/8 inches diameter by 3/8 inches thick
  • Electric drill
  • Wood glue
  • 7/16-inch drill bit
  • Tool belt
  1. Step 1

Take the hammer with a wooden handle and, using a 7/16-inch drill bit, drill a 3/8-inch hole deep into the base of the handle.

  2. Step 2

Once you have the hole drilled, apply a generous amount of wood glue into the hole and place the magnet down inside it so it will be flush with the rest of the handle. Use a damp cloth to wipe off excess glue.

  3. Step 3

    Let it dry completely overnight.

  4. Step 4

Next time you go to reach into your tool belt to grab a nail, you will not have to use your fingers, just the magnet end of your hammer.
