If you're like most guys, the thought of having to watch a chick flick probably makes you cringe. You'd rather go to the dentist than watch a romantic movie about two people falling in love. But, knowing that you want to try and keep your girlfriend, or get her to agree to go to the football game next weekend, you had better try and make the best of it. So, what can you do to actually enjoy watching it?

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Romantic ideas
  • Execution of romantic plan
  • Pizza delivery phone number
  • Dual TVs in one room
  • Hidden earphones for your iPod

Other Plans

Step1
Get out of watching the chick flick altogether. You have to understand that women like watching chick flicks when they are feeling blue or when they need to connect with the world. So, if you want her not to need to watch, you have to provide comfort in another way.
Step2
Get together a group of your girlfriend's friends for a party. This gives her a chance to talk to her female friends directly and air out whatever is bothering her. She might then not need to watch the movie. If you can't track down her friends, try letting her talk to you about what's on her mind (now, there's a novel idea).
Step3
Do something else to lift her spirits. You might have to take her to a romantic dinner, for instance. Or, you could give her a nice long back massage. If you make her feel better, then maybe she'll prefer to watch an action movie with you!
Step4
A Cute Stuffed Bear Will Melt Anyone's Heart Buy her something nice that she'll treasure. Buy her a necklace engraved by you showing her that you really care. Get her a stuffed animal or even buy her a card and write caring words in it.

It's All About You

Step1
Know that if you weren't able to convince her that she doesn't want to see the chick flick you're going to have to sit through it. But this doesn't mean you can't enjoy the time.
Step2
Order a pizza and breadsticks and have beer ready to drink. You might have to watch the movie, but at least you can feel like you're at a Super Bowl party instead. You'll get points if you get toppings she likes and let her choose whether to order from Papa John's or Pizza Hut.
Step3
Make out during the movie. If you like affection, use this time to make out with your girlfriend. She'll enjoy it because the chick movie is already making her feel romantic, and you may end up having to watch less of the movie if you're kissing the whole time.
Step4
Have another show playing on a TV right beside the chick flick. This way, you can watch both. Just tell her that you want to see the movie, but need to catch the show for a report at work the next day.
Step5
Get some hidden earphones, connected to your iPod. Keep the volume low, so she can't hear and listen to music while you watch the movie.

Actually Enjoy the Movie

Step1
Watch the movie. You're going to have to find a way to enjoy the movie itself.
Step2
Lots of dating tips in this chick flick Point out to yourself all the dating tips you can possibly learn from the movie to use in the future. For instance, you might learn that women love guys who take them on weekend getaways, so you take her somewhere next weekend and get big bonus points. Or, you learn that if you mess up, roses melt her heart and help her forgive you. That's all good stuff to help your relationship in the future.
Step3
Watch the movie. But don't just watch the movie, make a game out of it for yourself. See if you can find stuff starting with each letter of the alphabet, going from A to Z. Sound silly? Then make up your own game to get you through while still enjoying yourself.
Step4
You might enjoy it! Go in with an open mind and actually decide you are going to enjoy the film. See what women really are about. Many chick flicks actually have a good plot. If you watch the movie, you might be surprised to find out how interesting it really is.

Tips & Warnings

  • It really isn't hard to connect with a female. You just have to listen and understand what she's saying. Let her vent, let her say anything and everything and don't judge.
  • Don't spend your life fighting watching the chick flick. It might be easier just to do it and make your wife happy.
