How to Edit a Radio Interview That is on a CD

I have been editing audio files for many years now. I am not sure what format your radio interview is in on your cd. I am ASSUMING that it is a normal everyday audio cd format. If that is the case this is going to be a familiar process to most people.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Audio editing software
  • Audacity is free.
  • Nero comes with a pretty good editor
  • Audio Ripping software.
  • Free CD Ripper V1.6
  • Windows Media Player can do this, winamp, and many others are fully capable.

Step1
You will need a program to extract the audio off of the cd.

I recommend Free CD Ripper V1.6 which is FREE and available at http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html
Click the link from the menu on the left.
The menu says Free CD Ripper 1.5
(Once installed you will see that it is 1.6)
Step2
You will want to rip your cd tracks to your computer into either MP3 or WAV format.
Either will open in Audacity.
Step3
If you don't already have an audio editing program, you will need to download and install one.

I recommend Audacity (FREE).

Nero comes with one, as do many other cd recording software packages.
Step4
If you would like further instructions feel free to comment and I will revamp these quick instructions to include more information when i get more time. :)
