You have more tasks than you have time for. There's always something left on the list at the end of the day, and you feel like you're always running. What you need is a method of organizing your to-do list so you can control it.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pencil and paper
  • Highlighters
  1. Step 1

Write down everything you can think of that you must do. It doesn't matter how far out in the future it may be. It doesn't matter if it's something you're just thinking about doing. Write it down. Take a good 20 to 30 minutes to complete this task.

  2. Step 2

When you've finished writing everything down, prioritize the list. Use 3 or 4 different colored highlighters and highlight your high priorities in one color, secondary priorities in another and so on.

  3. Step 3

Determine priority by the deadline and urgency of a particular task.

  4. Step 4

Rewrite your list in order of priorities. You've just organized your tasks, listing the most important ones first, and assuring they get the attention they deserve. Work down your newly organized task list as time permits.
