The duck under is a classic wrestling move that allows you to convert the deadlocked clinched position into a very dominant position for you. The duck under requires both speed and strength, but with the right technique it is a powerful wrestling move you can master.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Step1
Get into a position where your opponent has an arm over your neck and shoulder and you have your arm on the opposite side on his neck and shoulder. Get a low and solid base while in this position.
Step2
Place your free hand on your opponent's elbow and get a good cupping grip underneath it. Push upward on that arm as a feint so your opponent leverages his body to the side to keep the arm down and thereby opens up the other side.
Step3
Pop the arm that's on your neck and shoulders upwards with one quick push to your opponent's elbow or lower triceps. Duck down and take a step towards and to the side of your opponent, getting your head underneath and past his arm.
Step4
Pin your head to the back of your opponent's arm so he can't place his arm back on the other side of your head. Arch your back and drop your other arm to your opponent's waist.
Step5
Pivot towards your opponent and grab him with the other hand so you have him in a tight two-armed hold. From this position, throw your opponent using whatever wrestling throw you're able to use.
