Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 26 gauge wire
  • Beads
  • Rose nose pliers
  • Flat nose pliers
  1. Step 1

Buy 26 gauge wire at a hardware store, craft store or bead store. Make sure the wire is straight before starting.

  2. Step 2

Slide the wire through the pre-drilled hole in your stone or bead. Pull it through and leave about one inch of wire. Cross the short piece of wire over the long piece.

  3. Step 3

Crimp the short piece of wire down with the round nose pliers. Then, use the pliers to wrap the short piece around the long piece. Wrap it around as many times as you want.

  4. Step 4

Snip the wire off, making sure it's on the back side or most unattractive side of the stone.

  5. Step 5

Take the round nose pliers to create a loop in the remaining wire. This loop is what you'll use to attach the stone to the chain. Create the loop by moving the pliers up the length of wire and wrapping the wire around the pliers. Determine if you want a small or large loop.

  6. Step 6

Slide the wire onto the chain you'll be using. Use the round nose pliers to wrap the wire around itself, completing the loop. Snip off the wire, making sure it ends in the same place as your other wire.

  7. Step 7

Run your finger along the cut wire to make sure it's not sticking out. If it is, use your flat nose pliers to crimp down the wire.
