How you brush your hair on your wedding day depends on the style you choose and whether you have a tiara, circular garland or simple barrettes adorning your hair. The type of brush you use and the products you put in your hair are also important when brushing your hair for your wedding.

Things You'll Need:

  • Paddle brush
  • Round bristle brush
  • Blow dryer
  • Comb
  • Smoothing serum
  • Hairspray

    Brush Straight Styles

  1. Step 1

Brush your hair only when it's dry. Brushing wet hair causes breakage and pulls out the hair. Use a comb to detangle wet hair and separate it into sections for blow drying.

  2. Step 2

Use a paddle brush or round bristle brush for the smoothest hair. Round bristle brushes help straighten curly hair during blow drying and also help give straight hair more volume.

  3. Step 3

Wrap a section of hair around a round bristle brush and pull it out taut from your head. Slowly pull the brush down, following it with a blow dryer. Continue this on each section of hair until your hair has the smoothness and volume you desire.

  4. Step 4

Smooth frizzy hair by applying a smoothing serum to a paddle brush and gently brushing it through your hair.

  5. Step 5

Design the ends of your hair with a metal pick. Turn the ends out or create a slight wave. Spray with a strong hold hairspray, and you're ready for your wedding.

  6. Brush Updo Styles

  7. Step 1

Separate your hair into sections, based on the updo style. A rat tail comb helps part the hair and separate curls without causing a lot of stray hairs.

  8. Step 2

Backcomb certain sections of your hair where pins or clips will hold it in place. Pull the section of hair out from your head, and using a fine toothed comb, backcomb from the tips of your hair to the roots. Do this a few times until the hair is slightly teased.

  9. Step 3

Complete your updo wedding hairstyle and use a small round brush to spread hair products, such as shine serum, over the teased areas of your hair.
