How to Do Footwork for an Under Arm Turn in Waltzing for Ladies

The waltz is a beautiful dance with three beats. In the waltz, the woman can do lovely underarm turns. The trick is fitting all of the steps in while still in time with the music. These steps will help you to turn in style.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Take 12 steps when doing the footwork for an underarm turn in waltzing for ladies.

  2. Step 2

    Begin by stepping back with your right foot while facing the man.

  3. Step 3

    Step to the left with your left foot.

  4. Step 4

    Close your right foot so that it is a little in front of your left foot but to the side.

  5. Step 5

    Move your left foot forward, then move your right foot forward and to the side. As you place your right foot, slowly begin to turn to the right.

  6. Step 6

    Continue turning with your left foot as you move clockwise, and end the turn when you face front again.
