Step 1
Take the bolts out of the power steering pressure line. This loosens the pressure line, so the valve cover can slide out from under it later. You will not actually remove the line. Set the bolts in a magnetic tray, this will keep them from rolling away. You should have a separate magnetic tray for the bolts of each component, as this will keep you from getting them confused during the re-installation phase.

Step 2
Pull out the spark plug wires. This should only be done after the negative charge is disconnected from the battery terminal. This is important to avoid injury when dealing with anything electrical on your vehicle. Mark the spark plug wires with some numbered masking tape to ensure you reattach them properly.

Step 3
Disconnect the PC valve and move it out of the way. Notice the vacuum line on the back that also needs to be removed. Most of these items will not be completely removed from the engine compartment; they are merely meant to be loosened and moved out of the way to provide access to the valve cover.

Step 4
Consider the parts you have already removed from previous steps. Notice if there are any other parts still in the way. The parts mentioned are all general parts and every vehicle may differ slightly. If there are still components in the way, consult your vehicle's repair manual for removal instructions.
