Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Do the ballroom position with your partner. Place your right hand on the woman's back, and take her left hand in yours. The woman places her left hand on your shoulder and puts her right hand in yours.

  2. Step 2

Begin to move the feet for men while turning in the meringue by lifting the "bridge" or the clasped hands of you and your partner.

  3. Step 3

Start by stepping forward with your left foot when you are moving the feet for men while turning in the meringue. As you begin the turn, drop your right hand from the woman's back.

  4. Step 4

Continue moving forward until you turn counter clockwise under your clasped hands, and face the woman again.

  5. Step 5

Resume the ballroom position with your right hand on the woman's back. You will take four steps to complete the turn.

  6. Step 6

Keep moving your feet as the man is turning while dancing the meringue when you are the woman. Even though you don't turn, you'll shift your weight from foot to foot as you pick them up and put them down in time to the music.

  7. Step 7

Remember to do the steps for the turns in multiples of two. If you do the turn in four to eight steps, that's fine. The trick is to stay within the beat of the music when moving the feet for men while turning in the meringue.
