Once you've mastered basic tap dance steps, you can combine those steps to perform more complicated tap steps. An advanced shuffle toe combination is a great way to showcase your mastery of basic tap steps. Just remember to keep your footwork sounding crisp and clear.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Shuffle your right foot out to your right side by brushing the ball of your foot off the floor as you move your foot away from your body and back toward your body.

  2. Step 2

Put the weight of your foot on your toes as you turn your right knee down and inward so that it faces your inner left leg. This is the "toe" portion in the shuffle toe step move.

  3. Step 3

Perform another shuffle with your right foot just as you did in Step 1.

  4. Step 4

Toe with your right foot as you did in Step 2. Toe again.

  5. Step 5

Dig with your right foot by placing all the weight of your right foot on the heel.

  6. Step 6

Brush your right foot back by brushing the ball of your right foot off the floor and lifting your entire foot off the floor.

  7. Step 7

Place the ball of your right foot on the floor then touch your right heel to the floor. Step forward with your left foot.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you were actually saying the above step as you were performing it, you'd say "Shuffle toe, shuffle toe toe, dig brush toe heel step."
  • You can perform the above steps on the "left side." Simply start Step 1 by doing a shuffle on your left foot.
