Step 1
Realign your suspension knuckle by wiggling it into place until the bolt holes line up. If your bolt holes are elongated, you will need to rock the suspension knuckle back and forth until they fall into the stake marks and line up. If you are having trouble, ask for someone to help, as a little more wiggle and pressure may do the trick.
-
Step 2
Place the bolts through the holes and start tightening them down manually. Tighten them down as far as you can get them with your hand, then use a torque wrench for the rest of the job.
-
Step 3
Torque the bolts, one at a time, to the required specifications listed in your vehicle's repair manual. This should be between 65 and 100 foot pounds of torque. Repeat this same process on the lower bolts.
-
Step 4
Try to wiggle the entire system to make sure the bolts are tight and there is no slipping. This should take care of the reassembly of the suspension knuckle and getting the bolts in and tightened down. If you have any problems along the way, consult with a professional mechanic.
