1
Buy a basic staff for daily use and practice by choosing from the different lengths and thicknesses. Check with your staff fighting instructor which staff is best for your purposes or buy a selection of short, medium and long staffs of a less expensive material such as hard wax or plastic.
-
2
Pick up a full contact practice staff that is padded to prevent you or your opponent from getting injured during more advanced training sessions. Look at ActionFlex's foam covered staff for a piece of staff fighting equipment that will take you to the next level.

3
Find sparring pads for the head, chest, forearms and hands to increase the intensity of your staff fighting training. Consider buying a set of sparring pads such as the Warrior Combat Kit which includes hand, foot, head, groin and shin pads.

4
Get a staff or weapons bag to keep your fighting staff protected so it'll last longer. Marital arts duffel bags are one way to go for shorter staff but longer staffs need special staff bags that sling over your shoulder for easy transport that keeps your weapon in good condition.
