When playing soccer, the expert player not only controls the ball with their feet, but with other parts of their body as well. The head, chest, heel and even thigh can all be utilized to move a ball past a defender or receive a pass from a team mate. Here is a One Touch Thigh Drill that will help you improve your soccer skills.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soccer ball
  • Team mate to toss you the ball
  1. Step 1

Stand in the ready position waiting for the ball. This means that your knees are slightly bent, you are light on your toes, and your body is facing the team mate, ready to receive the ball.

  2. Step 2

Raise your thigh as the ball approaches. Rather than having it parallel to the ground, let your knee point slightly toward the ground. This will give you the ability to pass the ball to someone, rather than having it pop straight up in the air.

  3. Step 3

Thrust your thigh forward and make contact with the ball. Keep the foot on the ground pointed toward the team mate to whom you want to pass the ball.

  4. Step 4

Repeat this exercise for 10 repetitions on each leg and then switch with your partner to complete the One Touch Thigh Drill.

Tips & Warnings
  • For a variation on the One Touch Thigh Drill, focus on deadening the ball at your feet. As the ball comes in, catch it with your thigh and then let it fall to your feet. Then swiftly pass it to a teammate. This Two Touch drill will also come in handy during soccer game play.
