1
Try to unify the decor of the room by using only a few colors, patterns and textures. Only place a few small items of decor on the walls.
-
2
Use light or pastel colors. When using stripes on curtains or wallpaper, always place them vertically, to draw the eye upward, which creates a sense of space. Place a wallpaper border at the top of the wall to draw the eye upward.

Frame the window with only a light valance, unless bathroom privacy is an issue. If it is, then use a light, bright fabric curtain.

4
Replace a bulky vanity with a newer, sleeker sink for a complete renovation. Choose a pedestal or a wall mounted model to create the illusion of more floor space.
-
5
Install a skylight to lighten and brighten the small bathroom.
-
6
Think up. Hang storage cubicles or shelves up high and get a tall towel rack to replace towel rods that take up wall space. Keep a small step-stool in the bathroom for reaching items.
-
7
Add large mirrors and a clear glass tub or shower enclosure to create the perception of space.
-
8
Consider replacing the bath tub or tub/shower combination with a simple walk-in shower when doing a complete renovation.
