Once you've whipped up the homemade alfredo sauce and boiled your pasta al dente, the two need to be mixed together to produce a hearty side dish or main course. Alfredo sauce is best served hot, but requires a few minutes to ensure that the sauce is soaked up into the pasta before serving.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ingredients for alfredo sauce
  • Pasta
  • Large, non-stick pan
  • Large pasta pot
  • Water for boiling
  • Salt for pasta
  • Large serving bowl
  • Colander
  1. Step 1

Prepare the homemade alfredo sauce according to a selected recipe. Use fresh ingredients to make the sauce.

  2. Step 2

Cook the homemade alfredo sauce in a large, non-stick pan over medium heat.

  3. Step 3

Boil pasta according to the package directions. Add 1 tbsp. of salt to the water. Pasta cooks best when the water is brought to a rolling boil.

  5. Step 5

Grip the pasta with tongs or a pasta spoon, and place the warm pasta in the pan with the alfredo sauce.

  6. Step 6

Fold the pasta gently into the sauce, covering all of the pasta with sauce. Let the pasta sit for two minutes.

  7. Step 7

Place the pasta in a serving bowl, and serve as a main dish or a side dish.

Tips & Warnings
  • Fettucine noodles are the most common noodles selected for serving with alfredo sauces.
  • Do not overcook the alfredo sauce as it will thicken too much and will not properly coat the pasta.
