Step 1
Remember that one of the basics of paragliding is the ability to stay on the wind line that you have chosen. This is one place where the Zen knowledge of paragliding comes into play. The wind line inflates the kite and when placed in the center of the kite keeps it evenly inflated.
-
Step 2
Keep the wind aimed directly at your back as though it blows through you and into the kite. When done properly, the kite inflates evenly. If it's misplaced, one side inflates and the other collapses.
-
Step 3
See if you're on your wind line by laying out the kite. This helps you to develop the Zen knowledge of paragliding by opening up the canopy totally and you're ready to launch. This builds your wall so you can grab both sets of risers in your hands.
-
Step 4
Pull the A riser on the outside to control the front of the kite once you feel a little wind. Immediately follow by pulling your D riser on the other side of the kite to let the wind out. This helps you to gain the Zen knowledge of the wind when you're paragliding. Continue to practice building the wall.
-
Step 5
Maintain pressure on your wing at the launch. Adjust for the wind condition by running if the wind is low and almost braking with your feet in a high wind condition. Learn how to maintain pressure so you can get lift off by adjusting your speed.
