Step 1
Stand on the ice with your feet close together. Keep your shoulders level and your chest up. Extend your right arm out in front of your body. Put your left arm in back of your body stretched out straight.

Put your left leg back. Point the toe of your skate down towards the ice. Keep your leg straight. Your hips and shoulders should be facing forward.

Push off with your left leg. As you become more proficient with the spin, you can push off more forcefully. This will increase momentum and help you spin faster.

Rotate your arms forcefully counterclockwise. As you start to spin, pull your arms in tight close to your body. Keep your back straight. Avoid lowering your head and looking at the ice, which can throw you off balance.

Step 5
Bring your pushing leg up. As you start your spin, lift your leg up with your knee bent. Place it close to your spinning leg. The skate of your pushing leg should be at the knee of your spinning leg.

Step 6
Know how to stop. Put your lifted leg back on the ice. As your spin slows down, place the toepick of your skate down on the ice.
