The Pinch Drop Coin magic trick is a commonly used magic trick, especially when performing for children. The principle behind this trick is making it appear that something is happening, when in fact, it isn't. Follow these steps to do the Pinch Drop Coin magic trick.

• Coin

1. Hold the coin between your thumb and the index finger of your left hand. Hold it up where your audience can see it. Your fingertips should be pointing toward the ceiling, and your wrist toward the floor. The backs of your fingers should face the audience and your thumb should face you.

2. Bring your right hand up and hold it in such a position where the back of your hand and the backs of your fingers are facing the audience. Your thumb should be touching your index finger, with your thumbnail facing you.

3. Pretend to grasp the coin with your right hand, but when your fingers are concealing part of your left hand, let the coin drop into the palm on the left hand.

4. Do something with your right hand to attract attention to it while you drop your left hand down to your side. Many magicians will bring the hand to their mouth, blow into it and then show the audience it is empty. It will appear that you have made the coin completely vanish.

Tips & Warnings

• This trick will be especially entertaining if you are wearing long sleeves and instead of dropping the coin into your hand, you drop it down into your sleeve. Then, both hands would be empty and you could keep them in the attention of your audience.
