Step 1
Check out the range of locksmith wedges that create distance between the door and the lock to open a locked door. Basic wedges are compact metal pieces with a sharp bend in one end. Inflatable wedges are an example of more sophisticated wedges that locksmiths insert between a space close to the lock and inflate to create room to work with other tools.

Step 2
Look at the various hooking and dipping tools such as the lasso, which is an older tool that locksmiths insert into a slightly open window to grab the locked door of an older car. The Japanese tool uses the same idea but works on thumb-push locks. The auto-buster is a slightly more complex tool that opens slide locks. The Z-tool and, of course, the Slim Jim also use the same idea of dipping into a car window to manually open the lock.

Step 3
Take a look at regular lock picking tools like a pick set that contains a number of different shaped tools to insert and spring a look. You'll also find bump keys in this category, which are designed to open any lock of the same kind of mechanism and build.
