Bowling is a fun sport, and it's even more fun if you see your score consistently improving. As you progress in the sport you can learn how to hook the ball and perform other fancy shots, but to start you'll want to have an easy plan that you can follow when you bowl. Follow these steps to knock down lots of pins when throwing the ball in bowling.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bowling ball
  • Small terry cloth towel
  • Bowling shoes (recommended)
  1. Step 1

Pick up the bowling ball and stand with your feet on the middle dot at the end of the lane.

  2. Step 2

Wipe the bowling ball with a towel.

  3. Step 3

Line the ball up with the second arrow and roll it down the lane. It will take a little practice to determine exactly how much force you will need to use when rolling the ball.

  4. Step 4

Count the pins left standing. For every pin that is still standing left of center, move three boards to the right before rolling the ball for the second time. For every pin that is left standing right of center, move three boards to the right.

  5. Step 5

Roll the ball to knock down the remaining pins.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wear bowling shoes because they keep you from sticking to the floor. Some bowling alleys require bowling shoes because street shoes can damage the lanes.
