Krav maga, or "close combat" in Hebrew, teaches the same hand-to-hand combat techniques employed by Israeli military forces. One of the most powerful forms of martial arts ever created, krav maga does not have it's own competitions, as is not considered a sport; however, it is gaining popularity in the United States as a form of self-defense. Learning combative krav maga techniques is part of the building blocks of training.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use combative krav maga techniques once your opponent's strength has been weakened and you simply want to finish the fight. Remember that krav maga should only be used as self defense, so do not let your adrenaline get the best of you. Only fight as long as necessary to stop the fight and escape or call for help.

  2. Step 2

Hit your attacker while his guard is down to prevent him from attacking further. A few of the best and fastest methods for debilitating your attacker when his guard is down include head butts and eye gauging. These simple yet painful attacks are not usually expected and will allow your a few seconds to complete other combative techniques and finish the fight.

  3. Step 3

Employ your krav maga punching techniques if your attacker has been weakened but is still standing. You might punch to the stomach or groin as the final strike to send him to the ground.

  4. Step 4

Perform sweep kicks or knee strikes to drop your opponent quickly to the ground. This may also be the perfect opportunity to employ some of the seven krav maga elbow strikes to further debilitate your attacker.
