Krav Maga is a form of unarmed combat created by the Israeli army. Among the many useful techniques is the hand plug that prevents a chokehold attack and allows for the coordination of defensive strikes. This guide is for practice purposes only.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Face your opponent standing approximately 3 feet apart with your hands at your sides. Your partner's has their arms bent at the elbow and held at chest height. It is a good idea to practice this technique on a mat or other soft flooring in case of a fall.

  2. Step 2

Let your partner step forward two steps and attempt to encircle your throat with their hands.

  3. Step 3

Tuck your thumb into the palm of your left hand and grab under the right thumb of your opponent. This is in readiness to throw off the chokehold in Step 4.

  4. Step 4

Dip the right shoulder downwards as you lift the right arm towards your opponent. The palm should be open and moving in an upward direction.

  5. Step 5

Strike partner's chin with the heel of your right hand and twist you body to the left at the same time. The feet do not move, just the hips.

  6. Step 6

Pull partner's right arm toward you with the left hand as you strike partner with the right knee. Repeat Step 6 several times simultaneously with Step 7.

  7. Step 7

Place right arm on partner's right shoulder after the punch in step 6 and use your grip to pull your partner forward. This allows you to strike the face. Of course, you will not really strike your partner's face.
