Step 1
Stand approximately 2 feet in front of your partner with your back to him and allow partner to place both hands gently around you throat as they step forward with the left foot. Your partner can begin standing right behind you or slightly off to the side. It is a good idea to attempt both stances as attacks don't always come from straight behind you.
-
Step 2
Let your partner push you forward from the choke position taking a step forward as they do. This will push you forward and brings your partner in closer to your body.
-
Step 3
Place your right leg firmly on the ground to retain your balance after the push in Step 2. Your partner's hands should still be around your throat.
-
Step 4
Lift your left arm out in front of you, palm flat and facing down. Your knees should be slightly bent and your upper body leaning slightly forward. Your partner's hands are still around your throat.
-
Step 5
Spin your body 90 degrees to the left very quickly and stand up straight. This will make your partner lose their grip on your neck.
-
Step 6
Turn all the way around to face your partner again who is now open for attack. Bend your left arm at the elbow just above partner's head.
-
Step 7
Bring your left arm down to grab partner's upper right arm at the same time as you use your right elbow to simulate striking your partner in the side of the face.
