Kiteboarding can be great fun and is considered an extreme sport. To buy the right kite for this sport, you need to get some good advice from other kiteboarders and possibly visit a kiteboard shop. They can show you all kinds of kiteboards, which come in different shapes and sizes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide which style of kite you will want. Most kiteboards are shaped in a C like fashion. This shapes helps you with your flight and lift off when kiteboarding.

  2. Step 2

Check out the new designs of the kiteboards. The newer design is shaped more like a bow and is better for braking when you are kiteboarding. You might want to ask what level you have to be at to manage a 2007 kiteboard.

  3. Step 3

Make sure your kiteboard has bridals. Ask about power kites which are the newest kiteboards on the market. They have special features such as zippers, bladders, safety release systems and much more to help you steer this powerful kite.

  4. Step 4

Ask about the Halo kite. This might be a good choice for you if you like the C shape. It has a really long chicken loop that provide a bungee sensation when using it.

  5. Step 5

Choose a kite for kiteboarding by asking what your needs are. You might be a beginner and prefer the C shaped kite, or you might have been kiteboarding for years and might find better quality in the power kites.
