Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use the 45-degree arm bar when you have your opponent on the floor in advanced jiu-jitsu side control. Your opponent should be laying on his side as you rest on your knees above his head with one knee pushing firmly into the crook of his neck and lower shoulder. Your right arm should be around the front side of his body and your hand firmly holding his wrist. Finally, you are locking his arm in place with your left arm slipped under his while you are gripping your own right forearm.

  2. Step 2

Lean forward against her bent elbow as you lift your right leg and press the sole of your foot flat into the mat. Push with your foot and stand so that your left foot is placed even with her upper back. You should now be straddling your opponent while squatting and leaning over her upper body. Make sure that you keep both of your feet close to her body so that she cannot maneuver out of the lock.

  3. Step 3

Twist your body to the left and fall back away from your opponents body, breaking his grip as you roll to the ground so that his arm stretches out straight. Maintain the hold on his wrist, pulling it tight into your body, and grip his upper arm between your knees.

  4. Step 4

Turn her wrist so that her thumb faces up towards the ceiling and complete the move by lifting up with your hips, pulling at her shoulder.

Tips & Warnings
  • The 45-degree arm bar is an advanced jiu jitsu move that should be practiced slowly and with caution until mastered, as you can quickly destroy your opponent's rotator cuff.
