Step 1
Pick out a coin to make disappear. A quarter is easiest for beginners since it's bigger and easier to grasp.
-
Step 2
Pinch the coin between your index or middle finger and your thumb. Cover almost all of the bottom of the coin with your thumb, but leave your finger closer to the edge of the top of the coin.
-
Step 3
Remove the finger holding the coin. It should now be balanced completely on your thumb.
-
Step 4
Bring your thumb to the crease where your palm meets your fingers. Position the coin in the crease by your two middle fingers. These fingers will provide the most cover and it will make it harder to accidentally drop the coin.
-
Step 5
Move your thumb away from the coin, grasping it in the crease of your palm and fingers. Keep your hand palm down so no one can see the coin.
-
Step 6
Use your free hand for misdirection, so it looks like the coin disappeared from that hand, rather than the one the coin is really in.
-
Step 7
Practice in front of a mirror. Once you can do the trick in a smooth, fluid motion, you're ready for your audience.
