The Hip Hop LA Walk is an eight count move, according to professional hip hop instructor and performer, Seth Gordon. It's a cool move to incorporate into your own steps or choreography.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin the Hip Hop LA Walk by kicking out your right foot. Slide your left foot back at the same time you kick your right foot forward.

  2. Step 2

Kick out your left leg and slide your right foot back. It should look like you're going some place in a hurry without moving anywhere.

  3. Step 3

Jump to the right with your right foot, lean to the left as you step on your left foot, step on your right foot again, then slide your left foot over next to your right foot.

  4. Step 4

Reverse direction by kicking your left leg forward as you slide your right foot back, and continue as above.

  5. Step 5

Continue this pattern for the Hip Hop LA Walk: "RIGHT, LEFT, right, left, right, LEFT, RIGHT, left, right, left." The beats in lower case are the quicker, syncopated steps.

  6. Step 6

Do the Hip Hop LA Walk slowly at first, and then add more speed as you get better at the move. Add style and attitude with arm gestures exaggerated kicks, whatever. It's hip hop, man. As long as you're in time with the music, anything goes.
