If you love to hacky sack, or footbag as it's otherwise known, then you know that making your routine as impressive as possible is the ultimate goal of the sport. Not to mention, you can enter competitions and actually win money. Here is how to perform the "Drifter" which is a great move to add to any hacky sack routine.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hacky sack
  1. Step 1

Toss the hacky sack in the air. When you are just learning this move, it's easiest if you just toss it yourself. Keep it in front of you, throw it from your waist up to about shoulder high and let it fall. Eventually you can incorporate this into a routine and start with the hacky sack on your foot.

  2. Step 2

Step with one foot in front of the other. (For those of you familiar with the "Clipper" move, the "Drifter" is essentially doubling it using each foot to complete the move.)

  3. Step 3

Bend the knee that just took the step.

  4. Step 4

Raise your opposite leg and place it behind your bent knee so that this leg is perpendicular to the other. This will happen simultaneously as you are bending your other knee.

  5. Step 5

Pop the hacky sack off the instep of your foot. If you have timed this right, the hacky sack should be just hitting your arch as you assume the previous position. Give the hacky sack a good kick in the air. Also, aim it toward the other side of your body.

  6. Step 6

Go back to your initial standing position. This is the transitional moment halfway through the move. You'll barely recognize you're back in this position as your body starts to move again.

  7. Step 7

Take a step with the foot that just kicked the hacky sack in front of the other foot.

  8. Step 8

Flex your knee that is now in front while simultaneously placing your other leg behind your knee.

  9. Step 9

Kick the hacky sack off the instep of your foot. You have now kicked the footbag with both feet completing the symmetrical "Drifter" move in hacky sack.
