Kicking around the hacky sack takes poise, grace and dexterity. And if you want to impress your friends it also takes the guts to try and master new moves. One such move that will leave your friends' mouths agape is the Clipper move. Here's how to do it next time you're kicking around the hacky sack.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hacky sack
  1. Step 1

Lift the hacky sack in the air. Whether you are in the midst of a large routine or just practicing this one move from an isolated position, to perform the clipper, you want to lift the hacky sack above waist height in front of you.

  2. Step 2

Step in front of one foot with the other. This comes down to preference. Choose one foot to step in front and the other foot will do the catching of the hacky sack.

  3. Step 3

Bend the front knee that you just took the step with. This will lower your center of gravity and help with balance.

  4. Step 4

Lift your back leg and place your foot so that the arch is facing up toward the air. This will happen simultaneously with the last step.

  5. Step 5

Catch the hacky sack with the instep of your foot. In order to keep the hacky sack from bouncing off, lower your foot in unison with the hacky sack as it comes down.

  6. Step 6

Toss the hacky sack back in the air by flipping the instep of your foot up. This completes the clipper move. You may repeat it several times in a row, or go onto a new part of the routine.

Tips & Warnings
  • The Hacky Sack is also referred to as a footbag in some parts of the world.
  • Skateboading shoes are excellent for doing hacky sack. They are thin soled and flat and allow you to control the hacky sack as you bounce it off your feet.
