A bridal bouquet should be comfortable to hold and stay fresh looking and beautiful throughout the entire wedding day. For this reason, it is a good idea to arrange a bridal bouquet using floral foam. By soaking the floral foam in water, you can keep flowers hydrated all day long, ensuring they look their best from the ceremony, pictures and reception.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase a pre-made bouquet holder with floral foam attached. You can find that at craft stores or through florist shops.

  2. Step 2

Keep all the flowers you are working with in a vase of water so they don't dry out and wilt.

  3. Step 3

Place the bouquet holder in a bowl of water. Leave it in the water until it sinks to the bottom of the bowl. Now the floral foam will be thoroughly saturated and ready to use.

  4. Step 4

Remove the bouquet holder from the water and dry the plastic handle.

  5. Step 5

Begin placing flowers at the top of the foam, cutting stems at a sharp angle. Place your largest flowers first, such as lilies and roses, and add "filler flowers" next.

  6. Step 6

Wrap the handle of the bouquet holder in ribbon, to match the bride's wedding gown or the bridesmaid dresses.

  7. Step 7

Store the bouquet in the refrigerator until the ceremony.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you select a bouquet holder with wet foam, not dry foam. Otherwise it will not absorb water and flowers will wilt.
