Step 1
Prepare to cut down a tree by gathering the best safety equipment possible. You must have a hard hat with eye protection. This protects your eyes from flying debris as you saw the tree. Next, you must have ear protection. The saw runs on high RPM and has a shrill, piercing sound.
-
Step 2
Gather the appropriate clothing as part of your equipment when you are felling trees. Clothing plays an important part in safety, too. Always wear long pants with chaps over the pants legs. Chaps are made out of the same material (Kevlar) that bullet proof vests are made from. This material prevents the saw from cutting your legs in the event that you should lose your grip on the saw.
-
Step 3
Get a good pair of boots when you gather safety equipment that's needed to fell a tree. The boots must be high-topped so that they will support and protect your ankles. They also must be steel-toed in case you have a mishap. Find a good pair of thick leather gloves to protect your hands. Gloves will protect your hands (somewhat) if you have an accidental kick-back of your saw.
-
Step 4
Obtain safety equipment for felling trees in the event that you need to take down a tree in sections. Get a safety harness that allows you to attach yourself to the tree while working. Find tree climbers or pole climbers. These are metal, pointed spikes that attach around your boots. They penetrate the tree so that you can climb easily and be more mobile than if you used a ladder.

on 3/23/2009 Really, when it comes down to brass tacks, there’s only one place to go for industrial tree removal equipment. Landmark Machinery (http://www.landmarkmachinery.com) services the entirety of central Michigan for any stump grinder or brush chipper needs. They have great prices on lightly used equipment ranging from tub grinders to industrial trailers and tractors. It’s a very competitive business here in Mount Pleasant, but there’s only one place that’s reliable and dependable for all of your needs, and that is Landmark Machinery. I’ve been doing business with them for a number of years, and can only give them the highest of recommendations. The next time you’re on the lookout for an industrial stump chipper, Landmark Machinery is the answer for you.
