    Instructions

      • 1

Sit in the driver's seat. Place your left foot on the pad, which is located on the left side of the floor in front of your seat.

      • 2

Move your seat until your foot rests comfortably on this pad.

      • 3

Adjust your steering wheel so that you're able to see over it without moving forward or stretching upwards.

      • 4

Look at steering wheel like a clock. Place your hands at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock. Your thumbs should point towards 12 o'clock.

      • 5

Turn your wheel using the push-pull-feed method. Use one hand to push the steering wheel up in the direction of the turn. Allow the other hand to pull the wheel down, adjusting as necessary.

      • 6

Use hand-over-hand steering for maneuvers, such as parallel parking and three-point turns.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Ignore old school drivers who tell you to place your hands at 10 and 2 o'clock. This is no longer recommended because of the potential for the airbag to deploy and hit your hands.

    • Don't bring your seat too close to the steering wheel. Maintain at least 10 inches between your body and the steering wheel whenever possible.
