Follow these steps to learn how to properly use a colon cleanse water tube.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Obtain approval from your doctor before having colon cleanse therapy. Discuss with him the benefits and risks of colon cleansing.

  2. Step 2

Look for an experienced colonic therapist. It's unsafe to perform colonics on yourself.

  3. Step 3

Ensure that the therapist uses a disposable speculum and tubing. Properly sanitized equipment is essential for your health. Disposable equipment is more sanitary than metal equipment.

  4. Step 4

Realize that there are risks involved in a colonic. If the therapist doesn't insert the tube correctly it can tear your colon and you can develop an infection.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look for a therapist that uses a cleansing system that allows your bowl muscles to push back out the fluid. This will ensure that your bowel muscles get a better workout and it will create more solid bowel movements.
  • Investigate other ways of colon cleansing if your doctor doesn't approve of colonics. There are many dietary methods of colon cleansing as well as herbal methods.
  • Don't attempt to perform a colonic at home.
  • Don't visit any therapist that you don't feel comfortable with. The facility you use should be clean and sanitary and the therapist should wear gloves before handling any equipment.
