- Towel
- Enema or colonic set

Step 1
Find someone to help give you the enema or colonic. You need to trust and be very comfortable with this person. Most ask a spouse or partner to assist.

Lay a towel down on the bed or the couch to protect from any leakage during the colon cleansing process.

Make the enema of colonic solution. There are many different types of enemas or colonics, each for different cleansing needs. Find the recipe or product that best fits your requirements.

Lay on the towel, on your back and get comfortable. Relaxation is important during this process.

Lubricate the rectum and enema nozzle. Use gloves to protect your hands. Ask your partner to with this step. Often it is easier for him to do this step rather than the person being cleansed.

Insert the tube into the rectum and start the colonic or enema. Start with a slow flow and gradually allow it to flow faster. Different people hold different amounts of colonic solution. Some hold 2 to 3 quarts while others may hold 1/2 to 1 quart.

Step 7
Ask the partner to massage the colon counter clockwise to ease the pain from cramps. This helps the solution move through the colon easier.

Step 8
Evacuate your bowels when you feel you cannot hold any more or when the need to have a bowel movement is urgent. Massage the colon clockwise when you release your bowels.
