There is an art to playing offensive line. It's all about footwork, poise and balance and being quicker than the defensive line. Here are some tips on how to perform a Cut Play Side Knee when you are part of the offensive line.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Defensive player to match against
  1. Step 1

Determine which side of the field the ball is going toward. Performing a Cut Play Side Knee is only effective on the side where the play is. This is because you want to create a hole where the ball is going.

  2. Step 2

Line up on the offensive line as you normally would. The key to fooling the defense is not to show any change in position before the play.

  3. Step 3

React and move the moment the ball hikes. You will most likely have a defensive line member that is gunning for you on the other side. As soon as the ball hikes, dart toward your assigned side, covering as much ground as possible.

  4. Step 4

Roll and dive into the member of the defensive line where you are trying to create a hole. The lower the better, as you are trying to take out the defender at his center of gravity.

  5. Step 5

Keep your eye on the rest of the play to make sure nobody has fumbled or turned over the ball. You've now completed a Cut Play Side Knee while playing offensive line in football.
